These are some of the numbers detailing the strength of women-owned businesses. But there are challenges as well. And next week a quartet of women Long Island business leaders will detail and discuss the unique challenges women face in the workplace as well as how women-owned businesses in America are a strong economic engine. This special Executive Breakfast event will be hosted by HIA-LI, the recognized voice for business on Long Island, on Wednesday, November 30, 2011, from 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM at The YMCA Boulton Center, 37 West Main Street, Bay Shore, NY. The event will open with a video recorded by US Senator Kirsten Gillibrand specifically for the day's discussion. Panelists include: Linda Agnew, President, National Association of Women Business Owners; Yvonne Grant, President & CEO, Girl Scouts of Suffolk County; Neeta Shah, MD, Vice President of Women's Services, North Shore LIJ Health System; Martha Stark, Senior Vice President, Signature Bank; and Leslie Tayne, LI Women's Agenda and Law Offices of Leslie H. Tayne. The discussion will be moderated by Anne Shybunko-Moore, President, GSE Dynamics.

Topics to be discussed include: unique challenges women face in the workplace, access to business capital and credit, life /work balance, equity in the workplace, childcare and mentoring.
