BURLINGAME, CA, November 30, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Trudy Bonincontro, Professor at Evergreen Valley College, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in counseling psychology.
Ms. Bonincontro has worked as a professor at Evergreen Valley College for 11 years, having become involved in the counseling profession after leaving the U.S. Army with the rank of sergeant E-5. At Evergreen, she teaches students in and develops curriculum for general psychology and early childhood development courses. In addition, she is in the process of implementing an online classroom environment. She also teaches at the University of California and serves as a therapist and behavioral instructor at Kaiser Pemanente. As a counselor and behavioral instructor, she works with couples and individuals, helping clients improve their communication skills, manage anger, get better sleep, and deal with stress, depression and relationship issues. Ms. Bonincontro maintains a private life coaching practice as well, specializing in relationship building within couples and families.
Ms. Bonincontro became involved in the counseling field because she desired a career in which she could directly work with and help others. She attributes her progression within the psychology field to her goal-oriented nature, and hopes to continue growing as a counselor and educator in the years to come.
To further her professional growth, Ms. Bonincontro is pursuing a Doctor of Education from Argosy University. She has already attained a Master of Arts in counseling psychology and a bachelor's degree in psychology, with honors, from John F. Kennedy University. In addition, she holds certification in early childhood education and is both a certified relationship counselor and certified professional counselor. Her professional affiliations include the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, American Psychotherapy Association, American Counseling Association, American Federation of Teachers, American Psychological Association, and Child Development Training Consortium.
