RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, CA, December 04, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The National Exercise & Sports Trainers Association (NESTA) recently acquired the Optimal Performance Institute (OPI), an established university offering a variety of health, exercise, sports and fitness degree programs of all levels. With the new name of Wexford University, more programs and options are now available at www.wexford.edu, and new students will be accepted beginning in early 2012.
Established in 1999, the former Optimal Performance Institute (now Wexford University) offers the following degree programs:
Associate of arts degree in Fitness Training
Bachelor of science degree in Health and Fitness
Master of science degree in Nutrition and Exercise
Master of arts in Applied Sports Psychology
Doctor of Applied Sports Psychology
"As a full-service fitness and wellness association, we made this acquisition to round out our complete suite of fitness and coaching schools and associations, which also include the Spencer Institute for Life Coaching, the International Triathlon Coaching Association and the Mixed Martial Arts Conditioning Association," said John Spencer Ellis, founder of NESTA. "Our students can now start with a basic fitness or health certification and end up with a doctorate degree through this powerful network of education providers."
Wexford University is accepting new students for the spring 2012 term. The school provides a 100 percent online learning format, affordable tuition rates, interactive classes and a variety of accelerated programs.
