LONDON, ENGLAND, January 08, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Roundhouse Rising festival is set to return to north London in early 2012 following the success of its inaugural edition.
A ten-day event dedicated to fresh music and exciting new artists at Camden Town's Roundhouse venue, the festival has now expanded to take on an international theme and a range of workshops designed to inspire young musicians.
The 2012 programme also includes a celebration of Nordic music, a partnership with the Museum of Modern Art in Medellin, Colombia and a podcast tutorial with BBC Radio 1 producer Amy Redmond.
Roundhouse Rising will begin on Thursday February 9th with the Rising Showcase, which is set to feature several performers tipped for big things in the next 12 months.
East London rapper Mz Bratt will headline the night, with support from Azekel and Lovelle. Tickets are priced at GBP6.
On Wednesday February 15th, the Bass Culture event is due to explore the influence of reggae on British music. Experts such as BBC Radio 1Xtra DJ Robbo Ranx and producer Curtis Lynch will be on hand to talk about the musical relationship between Jamaica and the UK.
