LONDON, ENGLAND, January 11, 2012 -- Spencer Ivy has launched an iPhone app which gives customers access to the helpful Electric Bike Buyer's Guide and a wealth of information about the company, dealers and products while they are on the move.
The app will enhance first-time buyers understanding of electric bikes and enable them to:

- Have free and easy access to the Electric Bike Buyer's Guide, with comments from industry experts including the Light Electric Vehicle Association
- Read reviews from the media and Spencer Ivy bicycle owners to help you decide on the right product for you
- Read the Spencer Ivy blog to keep up to date with news, events and competitions
- Watch informative and fun videos from our customers and team
- Browse a popular selection of products from the spencerivy.com catalogue, with links to the spencerivy.com website to buy bikes and accessories
- Book an electric bike test ride with any of the expert independent bike shops
- View and comment on photos through Flickr.
- Link to the Spencer Ivy Facebook Fan Page and Twitter account to get social with the team and community
Why an app?
Access to the Internet from a mobile device is projected to overtake the frequency of access from PCs over the next few years. This includes smartphones and tablet devices.
Joy Barber, Co-Founder of Spencer Ivy said:
"Since the successful publication of our Electric Bike Buyer's Guide last year, we wanted to make it even easier to distribute the free guide which is bundled with useful information for electric bike buyers. So in addition to the postal service and PDF download, this app was the best way for us to achieve this."
'We recognise that the majority of customers using our app will research shop information and research products online before buying. This app is designed to ensure they have everything they need to make an informed purchase, whether they are on the train to work or at home on the sofa.'
"It also makes it much easier to find your nearest dealer and book an 'exhilarating bike' test ride at your convenience."
Following questioning from HRH The Prince of Wales last Summer about Spencer Ivy electric bikes: http://bit.ly/qmPR3Q, perhaps His Royal Highness too will spare the thought for a download.
The free app is available to download from the Apple store (http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/spencer-ivy/id491530879?mt=8&uo=4) now.
