PROSPECT, KY, February 07, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Ideal Dentistry's Christian Hahn, DDS, is honoring the American Dental Association's February National Children's Dental Health Month, by helping to ensure a cavity-free future for children.
In February and March, the Prospect-area organic dentist, is offering free dental sealants to children who are members of the Ideal Smile Care Program, and are between the ages of 3 and 13.
The Ideal Smile Care Program is Ideal Dentistry's membership program designed to allow patients access to premium quality dentistry at affordable rates. The low cost of the program is usually recouped within the first visit or two.
"Sealants, placed correctly, have reduced the incidence of decay significantly" Dr. Hahn said. "As soon as they were old enough, I put sealants in the grooves of my children's teeth."
A dental sealant, is a plastic coating applied to the chewing surfaces of teeth. A thin layer of plastic is into the grooves of teeth where decay usually begins and immediately hardened with a special LED light.
According to The College of Dental Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina, dental sealants can provide 100 percent protection from cavities or dental decay on a tooth's chewing surface. Sealants are simple and require no drilling. The process is pain free and Ideal Dentistry in Prospect, Kentucky, uses BPA-free sealants.
"There is no discomfort associated with placing sealants," Dr. Hahn explained. "You won't even know they are there." On reason Hahn recommends the procedure is that sealing a tooth, costs less than filling one.
Hahn is a magna cum laude graduate of University of Southern California and an American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry accredited dentist in Prospect, Kentucky. His cosmetic dentistry, has been spotlighted on both The Discovery and Learning channel and in cosmetic dentistry journals.
