DENVER, CO, February 10, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Bradley Phillips, Physician and Surgeon of Phillips Surgical, P.C., has been named a Worldwide Who's Who Professional of the Year in Trauma and Emergency Medical Services. While inclusion in Worldwide Who's Who is an honor, only a small selection of members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, years of service, and credentials.

As a physician and surgeon, Dr. Phillips focuses his practice on the management of traumatized patients and those in intensive care. He serves as a trauma and critical care surgeon for both adults and children, treating grievous injuries with precision and care. He attributes his success to his hard work and enjoying what he does. He became involved in medicine because he has always wanted to be a doctor and had a strong scientific research interest. That research interest has led to the publication of nearly 100 academic articles in the past decade.

Dr. Phillips completed a pediatric burn fellowship at The Shriners Hospital for Children-University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston in 2004, having previously completed a surgical intensive care fellowship at Boston University in 2003 and a cardiac surgery research fellowship at Brigham and Women's Hospital-Harvard Medical School in 2002. He completed his residency through the Maricopa Integrated Health System in 2000, and he earned an MD from Michigan State University in 1995, having earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Michigan in 1991. He is an active member of the Society of Critical Care Medicine, the American Burn Association, and the International Society for Burn Injuries as well as several trauma organizations. Dr. Phillips has been awarded the National Patient's Choice Award for the past four years and was awarded the Outstanding Compassionate Physician Award in 2010. He serves on five editorial boards and is the editor of a new textbook entitled "Pediatric Burns". Dr. Phillips lectures and presents to national and international audiences on a regular basis but is also intimately involved in the education and training of local Emergency Management Teams. In years to come, Dr. Phillips hopes to continue working in the same field while learning more from his patients about the art and science of medicine.
