According to Morrison's official website, the songs on The Awakening deal with personal themes such as becoming a parent for the first time and the singer's difficult relationship with his own father.

He has spoken about his desire to create accessible pop music that will stand the test of time.

"There is the other side of pop, which is where you have a hit, but then after it comes out it never gets heard again. I never wanted to make that sort of music," Morrison said.

Tickets for his Paris show are available online, priced between EUR37.40 and EUR48.40 (GBP31.30 and GBP40.50).
