COPIAGUE, NY, February 26, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Long Island Exchange Columnist Cognac Wellerlane hosted the Valentines Filmmakers Party. The event was located at Gizzi's on West 8th Street in the West Village. The party attracted a collection of celebrities, filmmakers, actors, comedians, and singers who gathered together to show their work.
One of the films showcased was a Lionsgate production entitled "The Waterman," which featured actor Luke Guldan. Guldan has made appearances on the television shows "Gossip Girl," "Royal Pains," and "The Colbert Report." He was a University of Florida graduate who made strides in his role in the Tennessee Williams play "A Streetcar Named Desire."
The heartthrob actor, who has been compared with James Dean, has also graced magazines like GQ and Cosmopolitan. His involvement in "The Waterman" had him working with writer Claudio Carvalho. John Walls edited the film, which was featured in festivals last year.
Wellerlane also spoke with David Van Keuren about his film "Legerdemain," which has to do with the lives of two pickpockets. Keuren is a Buffalo Sate College graduate involved with Get Serious Productions. The production organization was started by fellow filmmaker students at Buffalo State College.
"It asks the question what crazy things would we do for our families?" spoke William Newman of his film "Dying Wishes." For more information about the film, visit www.willhnewman.com.
Another film showcased was Philip and Robert Snyder's "A Fairwell to Arm." The team of brother producers also wrote, directed, and starred in the film. The film, part of A Synder Films Production, contains some elements from Hemingway.
Wellerlane spoke with actress and comedian Bridget Fitzgerald. Fitzgerald informed her audience that they can receive information about live shows, stand-ups, and improv at www.bridgetfitzgeral.com. Guests of the event had a wonderful time and will likely seek out production members from each of the films to attend their screenings.
