Ordinary Guy Comes Up with Way to Help the World

    TUCSON, AZ, February 29, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- When talking with Michael Dow, you wouldn't expect that he would come up with a global impacting idea. He's soft spoken, going bald even though he's a bit hairy, he's only attended public schools and sometimes he has memory issues. But that didn't keep him from using his creative writing talent.

"I wanted to find a way to help the world," says Michael, "and stumbled across some ideas. I chose to believe that I could present them simply and thoroughly and published some books and websites."

The main part of his plan, which he has named Project 13 (soon to be a federally registered trademark), is the use of a calorie budget by our society. By learning to conserve food and maintain a healthy weight, Michael suggests that this skill will get transferred to the usage of other resources. Once it catches on by all countries, Michael then thinks we'll be in a position to deal with the challenges that limited natural resources will bring.

"You know, I didn't go to an Ivy League school. I don't have a PhD. I just paid attention in my classes and used what I learned. I combined a lot of info and presented it concisely. Really, it's something anybody could have done, but it appears fate would have it that I be the guy to present it all."

Project 13 is a set of online petitions that Americans are asked to sign for their respective state. The petition is a formal request to each State's Governor that calorie budget usage be promoted using every tool of the Executive Branch. "Like the country, I'm in a lot of debt and can't afford to properly market the project," says Michael. "I'll be depending on word of mouth and email chains to spread the word. If this project succeeds, then it will not only be a story of the American Dream, but will help ensure America's leadership position in the world and we'll pass down a society to our descendants that they can be proud of."
