Capitol Hill Skilled Nursing Center Passes Government's Newest Quality Certification

    VERO BEACH, FL, March 01, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Capitol Hill Nursing Center at The Specialty Hospital of Washington campus recently passed their Annual license and certification quality survey with no state deficiencies noted.

The Capitol Hill Nursing Center was under the scrutiny of 12 surveyors. The unannounced survey was part of the new quality directive from the Center for Medicaid & Medicare Services. The Quality Indicator Survey (QIS) is an effort to standardize how the survey process measures nursing home compliance with federal standards and the interpretative guidelines that define those standards. The QIS represents the culmination of 15 years of CMS-sponsored research and development aimed at addressing criticisms of long-term care raised by consumers, providers, the General Accounting Office, Congress, survey agencies, and CMS Central Office.

Calanthia Green, Administrator of the Capitol Hill Nursing Center, states, "The QIS is a two-staged survey process that was designed to produce a standardized resident-centered, outcome-oriented quality review. I am very proud of the staff for the work they do on a daily basis that ensures this type of successful review.
