/24-7PressRelease.com/ - January 6, 2005 - Equivio, provider of the world's first and only enterprise-grade solution for detection of near-duplicate files, has announced the general availability of Equivio Version 1.6. The patent-pending Equivio product detects and groups near-duplicate files. Equivio is used by organizations to reduce the cost, time and risk involved in reviewing and managing large repositories of documents.
Equivio version 1.6 generates output to an SQL database, enabling straightforward integration with both legacy systems and software products. Equivio identifies the near-duplicates for every file in any given set of documents. Equivio records the near-duplicate information in an SQL database for loading into downstream systems. Version 1.6 also supports incremental mode. Incremental mode allows the user to add additional groups of files to an initial set of source documents.
"Equivio comes into play whenever people need to make sense of a large, unstructured set of documents," said Amir Milo, CEO of Equivio. "Equivio creates value by systemizing chaotic sets of files. The grouping of near-duplicates helps people organize the analysis and management of documents by focusing and prioritizing the review effort. "
Milo continued, "Since launching the product in October we have encountered tremendous interest in a huge range of areas, including legal discovery, compliance and risk management, homeland security, OCR digitization projects and enterprise content management."
Equivio version 1.6 is a production-ready release, providing the performance, scalability and precision needed to support near-duping in large-scale enterprise environments. The release has been successfully beta-tested in trials with leading e-discovery vendors in the United States. With legal discovery costs ballooning, Equivio's ability to cluster near-duplicates slashes the effort required to review document collections and review sets. The clustering of near-duplicates allows each group of near-duplicates to be assigned to a specific lawyer or team for review, enabling a more efficient and coherent analysis, while reducing analysis errors and oversights resulting from information overload and chaos.
About Equivio
Equivio offers patent-pending technology to detect and group near-duplicate files. Equivio creates a compelling ROI in all business situations in which people need to analyze or manage large sets of documents. By grouping near-duplicates, Equivio enables the review of each set of similar documents as a single coherent entity, systemizing the review process and enhancing efficiency. In addition, the grouping of near-duplicates allows the user to review similar documents by just comparing differences. These capabilities save time and effort, improve review quality and ensure consistent treatment of similar documents. Equivio is built for straightforward plug-in as an OEM component, or as a standalone application integrated within the enterprise systems environment.
