LONDON, ENGLAND, March 09, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Stella McCartney opens a second London store in Brompton Cross in addition to the already existing Bruton Street location in Mayfair. The new 362 square meter store on 91-97 Fulham Road includes an expanded Stella McCartney Kids area with its own entrance and to reflect the complete "World of Stella McCartney," and an adjacent adidas by Stella McCartney freestanding shop, the first ever, will open in May this year.
The store front features large panoramic windows framed by a white hand glazed rhombus tile and brass facade with glass doors featuring a sculptural brass door handle leading into Stella McCartney's world. Inside the space, the bespoke sustainable oak parquet floor in a traditional herringbone pattern designed by Raw Edges guides the customer throughout the store featuring a neutral palette in maple, oak, walnut with brass details punctuated with shades of pink. Stella's ready-to-wear designs that play on masculine and feminine are displayed on brass sculptural rail installations, while handbags including the popular Falabella are merchandised on a concrete-like venetian plaster wall with relief block shelving contrasted with bold coloured felt. Rhombus tile plinths and built in ledge units provide additional accessory display. The basement is marked with walls in a deep blue hue and wool carpeting to house eveningwear as well as the lingerie collection intimately displayed on a recessed niche while luxury stained wood paneled fitting rooms complete the space.
The dedicated Stella McCartney Kids area of the new shop mirrors the collection by celebrating the spirit and energy of kids today. The sculptural brass rail installations are reworked into vibrant primary pop colours with rubber shaped ball accents to express the fun, modern and playful collection which include "mini me" versions of styles from the women's collections. Playing with humour and whimsy; fitting rooms feature amusing abstract perspex pendants in bright colours and various random shapes.
Following Stella's sustainable philosophy, the new stores will be powered by Ecotricity. To celebrate the opening, Stella McCartney has designed an exclusive dog leash and collar made of black gross grain, pleather and brass that will retail for GBP285 and only available in the new store.
Stella McCartney is a partnership between Ms. Stella McCartney and PPR's luxury division established in 2001 as a 50/50 joint venture. A lifelong vegetarian, Stella McCartney does not use any leather or fur in her designs. The brand's ready-to-wear, accessories, lingerie, kids, fragrance and the adidas by Stella McCartney collections are available through 16 other freestanding stores including London, New York, Los Angeles, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Paris and Milan as well around 600 wholesale accounts in key cities worldwide.
