PHOENIX, AZ, March 8, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Patti McDaniel, CMA, Instructor at Estrella Mountain Community College, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in education.
Drawing on 30+ years of professional experience, Patti McDaniel is a seasoned science educator at Estrella Mountain Community College. Specialized in medical terminology, she proficiently teaches courses in medical assistance, phlebotomy, anatomy and physiology.
Ms. McDaniel joined the U.S. Army at the age of 17. Determined to contribute to the medical care of others, she worked as an air evacuation flight medic in Incheon, South Korea. Additionally, she served in Korea for 2 years. Following her active duty, she worked as a medical assistant and remained in the Army Reserve for seven years, until September 1991. During Operation Desert Storm, Ms. McDaniel was deployed to Iraq and continued working as a flight combat medic; she assumed all of the responsibilities of an emergency medical technician without having completed schooling for EMT. Following her return from Iraq, she completed her education.
Ms. McDaniel earned a certificate in medical assistance at Southwest Medical Academy in 1983 and is a member of the American Association of Medical Assistants. In her spare time, she volunteers at her local senior center and shelter. She attributes her success to her devoted service in the U.S. Army, which, she notes, has made her the person she is today.
In the last two years, Ms. McDaniel has suffered from two brain tumors; however, she is determined to continue working. On a regular basis, she volunteers by collecting coats and blankets for her local homeless shelter. Moreover, Ms. McDaniel knows sign language and writes poetry.
