TUCSON, AZ, March 15, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Katherine Orlick, who practices dermatology in Tucson, says results from a survey by the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS) match trends she sees among her patients at Foothills Dermatology & Facial Plastic Surgery.
According to the survey, the most common non-surgical cosmetic procedures for women younger than 35 during 2011 were BOTOX Cosmetic injections (64 percent), hyaluronic acid injections (55 percent) and chemical peels (24 percent). Additional survey results are available at www.aafprs.org/media/stats_polls/m_stats.html.
"My younger female patients love what those 3 treatments can do for their skin," Dr. Orlick says. "BOTOX, for example, has become the 'gold standard' for smoothing away those frown lines and crow's feet that can make even a woman in her 20s look older. The treatment is short, yet dramatically effective.
"Complementing BOTOX are hyaluronic acid injections, such as Restylane and JUVEDERM. These treatments can fill in smile lines and depressed acne scars and even enhance thin lips. Meanwhile, chemical peels are excellent for treating acne."
In addition to these popular treatments, Foothills Dermatology & Facial Plastic Surgery offers a full range of facial cosmetic surgery. Dr. Orlick's partner, Dr. Jerold Olson, is a board-certified facial plastic surgeon and AAFPRS member known for his expertise in rhinoplasty for Tucson men and women. Nose surgery continues to be the most common cosmetic surgical procedure performed on men and women younger than 35, according to the 2011 statistics.
"Together, Dr. Olson and I offer the best of both worlds, since we offer the most popular surgical and non-surgical treatments," Dr. Orlick says. "Many of Dr. Olson's facial surgery patients are so thrilled with their results that they ask about additional enhancements. As a dermatologist in Tucson, I can complement the results of their surgical procedures with non-invasive treatments such as laser skin rejuvenation. "
