LateRooms.com - London's Tate Modern to Host Damien Hirst Exhibition

    LONDON, ENGLAND, March 29, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- London's Tate Modern is set to play host to the first substantial survey of the works of iconic and controversial artist Damien Hirst, commencing in April 2012.
 
Running from April 4th to September 9th as part of the London 2012 Festival, the exhibition will bring together more than 70 of the artist's works, offering a comprehensive review of Hirst's two-decade career.
 
The Bristol native came to prominence in 1988 and gained fame for pieces such as The Physical Impossibility of Death in the Mind of Someone Living - which depicts a shark suspended in formaldehyde - as well as Mother and Child, a four-part sculpture of a bisected cow and calf.
 
Tate Modern will be displaying these pieces alongside less well-known works like In and Out of Love, which has not been shown in full since its creation in 1991.
 
Entry to the exhibition costs GBP14 or GBP12.20 for concessions, with opening times running from 10:00 to 18:00 BST most days.
 
The show will also open late until 22:00 on Fridays and Saturdays.
