CHICAGO, IL, April 2, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Everette Braden has been recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in legal services.
Mr. Braden celebrates five decades of legal experience, during which time he has presided over countless family law and child support enforcement law cases. For 23 years he was a judge, including over 2 years as a justice of the Illinois Appellate Court, admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court. Prior to becoming admitted in the Illinois Appellate Court, he was a Judge in the Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois, and before becoming a Judge he served as a Chief Supervising Trial Attorney for the Cook County Public Defender's Office. He has also served extensively as an attorney, focusing on litigating cases. Mr. Braden prides himself on being a fair judge. He attributes his success to his helpful nature and passion for the law.
In addition to working as a judge and in private practice, Mr. Braden has lent his talents to numerous legal organizations over the years. He is a former president of the Cook County Bar Association and the Illinois Judicial Council Foundation. He has served on the board of directors of the Illinois Judges Association Foundation, the Chicago chapter of the Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, and John Marshall Law School Alumni Association, among others. Mr. Braden's further affiliations include the Cook County Judicial Advisory Council, Illinois Judicial Council, Illinois Congress of Parents and Teachers, and the Prince Hall Masons. He is also active with the Mary Merrick Scholarship Fund and Saint Mark United Methodist Church.
As a testament to his lifetime of excellence and achievement in the field of law, he has been presented with many prestigious awards and recognitions, a few of which include the Cook County Bar Meritorious Service Award, the Illinois Judges Association Award of Merit, the John Marshall Law School's Distinguished Service Award, and the Illinois Judicial Council Lifetime Achievement Award. He has also been nominated for the Cook County Bar Association's Hall of Fame and presented with The Black Law Students Association Award in recognition of outstanding accomplishments and dedicated service to the legal community and the DuSable High School Alumni Coalition for Action Award for distinguished achievement in the legal and judicial system and continuing dedication to DuSable High School. In light of his philanthropic efforts, Mr. Braden received the Mary Merrick Lifetime Achievement Award and the Geneva Scott Outreach Services Award of Excellence for outstanding community service.
Mr. Braden holds an LL.B. and JD from John Marshall Law School in Chicago, IL, having received a Bachelor of Science from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. He was admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States in 1990, having been admitted to the Illinois State Bar in 1969. In the same year, he was admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. Looking toward the future, Mr. Braden hopes for continued success in all of his endeavors.
