RALEIGH, NC, April 2, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Paul Clayton, Vice President of Supply Chain, Logistics and Information Technology Global Manufacturing and Supply for GlaxoSmithKline plc., has been named a Worldwide Who's Who Executive of the Year in Global Logistics. While inclusion in Worldwide Who's Who is an honor, only a small selection of members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, years of service, and the credentials they have provided in association with their Worldwide Who's Who membership.

Mr. Clayton is considered to be an authority on the shaping of organizational culture, strategic thinking, organizational leadership, synergistic relationship building, and change management leadership. After having amassed more than 30 years of professional experience in his field, Mr. Clayton brings forth a wealth of knowledge to his current position, as he is responsible for reporting to the senior vice president of global supply chain, logistics and external supply, recently moving the mergers and acquisitions products from upstate New York to Canada, taking a significant number of products from the New Jersey facility to New York facility, ensuring all products move appropriately and that there are no customer service issues. Mr. Clayton has ensured more than 250 million units will be delivered to all 17 markets within and outside the US. He has set up the team to take on significantly different products, has mentored and trained staff members, dealt with bar coding, MRP and distribution centers, and served as the manufacturing interface between the sites and the 17 markets that use GSK products.

Mr. Clayton is a seasoned senior professional committed to flawless implementation and organizational efficiencies. He is a management strategist who has spent more than three decades building on in-depth experience within the pharmaceutical industry. He learns quickly, provides leadership, and has served as vice president of Global Logistics for the world, regional vice president for North America and Europe, and vice president and chief information officer for the Canadian organization. In addition, he has lived in three countries and worked globally. Attributing his success to his passion and integrity, Mr. Clayton continues to learn and grow in his field as a member of the Senior Executive Program of GSK.

Mr. Clayton received his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Guelph, graduating with honors. He is a former member of the Board of Governors at Credit Valley Hospital. He has also taken various management courses designed for key leaders, including the Executive Manufacturing Program at the University of Michigan. In the years to come, Mr. Clayton would like to provide leadership and focus on significant change initiatives within GSK.
