Later this month HIA-LI, the recognized voice for business on Long Island, will present a panel discussion on major initiatives impacting the businesses in the Park and present a profile of the Park at what has become a "must attend" event for HIP-area landlords, building owners, business executives and government agencies - the annual Hauppauge Industrial Park Update Executive Breakfast Meeting. "Attendees will hear details and discussions about Hauppauge Industrial Park studies and learn the current status of a variety of projects designed to update and upgrade critical infrastructures, including energy, sewers and transportation, that are critical for operating the Park," said Terri Alessi-Miceli, HIA-LI president.
Among the significant initiatives to be detailed are:
- The launch of the HIA-LI Hauppauge Industrial Park Energy Conservation Project - a plan has been developed to determine energy usage in the Hauppauge Industrial Park with an aim of reducing overall consumption by at least 15 percent.
- HIP Growth Plans - panelists will discuss plans to create overlay districts to allow the Park to build up and out.
- Sewer Project - the panel will provide updates on the new 1.65 million gallons-daily treatment plant.
- Transportation - updates will be given about major transportation opportunities and solutions for the Park.
Suffolk County Legislator John Kennedy, Jr. will present opening remarks, followed by a panel of industry and government leaders. Panelists include: Rita Adrion, Regional Manager, 511NY Rideshare; Diane Booth, Pretreatment Coordinator, Suffolk County Dept of Public Works; Frank DeRubeis, Planning & Community Development Director, Town of Smithtown; John Donovan, Chief Engineer, Division of Sanitation, Suffolk County Department of Public Works; Christopher E. Kent, Partner, Farrell Fritz Division of land use, municipal and zoning practice group. The panel will be moderated by Jack Kulka, CEO of Kulka Construction.
