This year 95 mainland Chinese made it onto the list, a figure at odds with numbers seen just a decade ago where very few, if any, made the list. Collectively China is ranked 3rd in the Forbes Billionaires List, behind only the United States and Russia.

"The names change on the List," says Olivier, "but the wealth remains constant in China today. Marina construction is at an all-time high and Chinese investors and industry are buying into some of Europe's ailing but renowned yacht builders so the next generation of quality superyachts from the likes of Ferretti, for example, can be built here in China."
