MANCHESTER, ENGLAND, April 12, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The reunited Happy Mondays are set to play live at Manchester Arena on Saturday May 5th.
Fans of the legendary band, who confirmed plans to reform for a string of concerts in January, will be out in force for their hometown show at the city's biggest venue.
Although the group have reassembled several times since their initial break-up in 1993, this year will see the original line-up back on stage together for the first time in 19 years.
"It's as if we've never been apart - so good to all be in the same room again. We can't wait now to get on tour and play the songs that made us famous," said lead singer Shaun Ryder after the reformation was announced.
Emerging from the Manchester nightclub scene of the late 1980s, the Happy Mondays found mainstream success with albums such as Bummed and Pills 'n' Thrills and Bellyaches.
People heading to the concert at Manchester Arena can expect to hear classic tracks such as Step On, Kinky Afro, Wrote for Luck, Hallelujah and 24 Hour Party People.
Tickets are priced between GBP25 and GBP45 plus booking fee. Doors will open at 19:30 BST.
