Russel Toyota Holds Second Annual Cole & Dylan's Gift Cancer Benefit

    BALTIMORE, MD, April 19, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- On Sunday, June 3, Russel Toyota will hold their second-annual Dinner & Gala at their Baltimore Toyota dealership to benefit the Johns Hopkins Pediatric Oncology Unit. Last year's event raised more than $100,000 to be donated as part of Cole & Dylan's Gift, an achievement that event organizers hope to exceed this year.

Melanie Russel Sterry, general manager of Russel BMW, and her husband Wade Sterry, general manager of Russel Toyota, started Cole & Dylan's Gift to give back to the Johns Hopkins Pediatric Oncology Unit after their son Cole was diagnosed and then treated for Wilms' tumor, a rare form of childhood cancer that affects the kidneys.

"Cole was diagnosed with stage IV Wilms' tumor at the age of seven, and four years later the prognosis is positive," said Wade Sterry. "During his treatments, we noticed our daughter Dylan was also affected emotionally, so we started Cole & Dylan's Gift to support the life-saving research at Johns Hopkins. We hope everybody will come out to help us benefit this great hospital program that helps so many children and their families."

Attendees at the Russel Toyota Dinner & Gala will be treated to food from local restaurants, cocktails, silent and live auctions, and live music from The Reagan Years.
