As part of his professional activities, Mr. Trench participates in industry forums, such as the Society of Petroleum Engineers, and has been speaker in several industry forums, such as the International Gas Union.

Mr. Trench received an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin in 2002 and a joint MBA degree from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He earned the Dean's Award and a Sord Scholarship for Academic Excellence from the University of Texas at Austin. He also earned the Endowed Presidential Scholarship from the Abell-Hanger Foundation and is member of the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the oldest honor society in the U.S. whose members are invited to join based on outstanding academic performance.

As part of his personal initiatives, Mr. Trench manages a closed fund investing in quantitative systems and maintains a high profile in his professional community, as a senior member of the Association of Christian Business Leaders.
