Hayes first tasted mainstream success in 2002 with her debut album Night on My Side, which was nominated for the Mercury Prize.

Her music has featured in popular US TV series such as The Vampire Diaries and Grey's Anatomy, as well as in episodes of Irish drama Raw.

Tickets for the 34-year-old performer's show in York can be purchased online, priced at GBP10 plus booking fee. Doors will open at 19:30 BST.
