Developed by Volume Unit Entertainment and the Philippine Department of Tourism, the festival aims to establish Manila as one of Asia's top music destinations, while showcasing local performers to a wider audience.
This year, headline acts include the likes of Afrika Bambaataa of Zulu Nation, known as the "father of electro-funk sound", as well as Japanese house musician Shinichi Osawa and Ali Shaheed Muhammad of A Tribe Called Quest.

Visitors to the event are encouraged to turn up in carnival-inspired fancy dress, taking inspiration from colourful UK festivals like T in the Park and Bestival.
Tickets for the Manila Music Festival cost 1,500 pesos (GBP21.70) when booked in advance or 2,000 pesos at the door, while discounts are also available for group bookings.
