TAIPEI, TAIWAN, May 05, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Taipei Chinese Orchestra will be giving a Xunfa Yu Tribute Concert on May 12th 2012 at the Taipei Zhongshan Hall.
Commencing at 19:30 local time, the performance has been organised to honour the memory of the late bamboo flautist and composer Xunfa Yu, with many of his major works to be played during the evening.
Attendees will be able to hear renditions of pieces such as The Song in My Heart, Moon Night on an Autumn Lake and The Converging Streams, alongside several traditional compositions.
Many of the master musician's students and friends will be among those playing in the orchestra, offering an emotional and thought-provoking look back on his influence on Chinese music.
Tickets to the show cost between 200 and 1,200 Taiwanese dollars (GBP4.20 and GBP25.30), with the performance to be held at Zhongzheng Auditorium.
The Taipei Chinese Orchestra was founded in 1979 as the first professional Chinese orchestra in Taiwan and has since established a reputation for excellence, with around 100,000 people seeing their shows each year.
