District of Columbia Public Schools to Install 500KW Solar Array at Dunbar High School

    WASHINGTON, DC, May 09, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Solar Solution, LLC is proud to announce that it has been awarded the contract to install a solar PV array at the much anticipated newly constructed Dunbar High School. The 500 KW solar array will consists of both PV panels and Thin Film modules that will be situated on its newly constructed roof. The solar array will greatly help reduce the Districts of Columbia's dependency on the grid while helping the DC Public School system save money that can be allocated for other capital improvement projects. With the ever increasing rate increases for the District of Columbia, installing a solar system is now becoming a viable option to help reduce not only their overall costs, but also by helping reduce the carbon footprint of the building. Solar Solution is working with Smooth / Gilbane Construction and Laco Electric to help bring this project to a reality for the DC Public School system and its residents.

This system will save the District residence and the DC Public School approximately $2.5 million over the 25 year life span of the system.
