A performance by acclaimed American vocalist Joan La Barbara is one of the most recent additions to the line-up. The singer, who has worked with composers such as John Cage and Philip Glass, will appear at the Bimhuis on Thursday June 7th.

La Barbara is due to perform works such as Gatekeeper, an opera inspired by the works of Virginia Woolf and Edgar Allan Poe. Tickets for this event are priced at EUR20 (GBP16.30).

With the festival set to run until Thursday June 28th, there will be plenty of other opportunities for visitors to enjoy a performance.

Antony and the Johnsons are due to present a one-off concert with the Metropole Orchestra on Tuesday June 5th, while Stadsschouwburg Amsterdam will host an exclusive performance of Shakespeare's Macbeth by the Toneelgroep Amsterdam.
