    BARCELONA, SPAIN, May 09, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Sonar, Barcelona's annual festival of music and multimedia, returns to the city for its 19th edition this summer.

A host of top artists and iconic bands are due to perform in the Catalan capital, including the likes of Fatboy Slim, Hot Chip, The Roots, New Order, Lana Del Rey and Friendly Fires.

Running from Thursday June 14th to Saturday June 16th, the event traditionally focuses on the many facets of electronic music.

As well as presenting internationally renowned acts, Sonar aims to provide a showcase for the leading lights of the Spanish music scene. Some of the domestic acts due to perform at this year's festival include Arbol, Koulomek, Microfeel and Eduardo de la Calle.

The event is a proudly urban festival, meaning revellers do not have to bother about erecting tents or walking through mud to see their favourite band.

Instead of a large field, performances take place at venues such as the Centre of Contemporary Culture and the Museu d'Art Contemporani de Barcelona.

Festival passes, which provide access to all Sonar by Day and Sonar by Night events, are priced at EUR155 (GBP125.80). Two-night tickets for June 15th and June 16th can be purchased for EUR100.
