VM Explorer Improves Even More - Extending Support to Microsoft Windows Hyper-V Server

The new release introduces fully integrated support for Microsoft Hyper-V server (backup, restore and replication). The two-in-one integration comes without any additional costs to the customers. At the same time, VM Explorer remains simple and reliable. In this way, if the user's virtualization infrastructure evolves, becoming a heterogeneous system, VM Explorer will be easily integrated into the new environment.

Although the new Hyper-V virtualization feature has been added, the VMware support has not been left aside. In fact, VM Explorer 4.0 brings also many enhancements in the VMware vSphere (ESX/ESXi/ESXi free) functionalities.

Since VMware and Microsoft virtualization systems are different, one of the aims of VM Explorer is to keep the backup configuration as simple as possible. With VM Explorer the user will be able to set up his Hyper-V backup environment exactly in the same way as with VMware hosts.

New features of VM Explorer 4.0:
- Microsoft Hyper-V support: in a simple and intuitive way it's now possible to configure Hyper-V hosts, perform Backups/Incremental Backups of Hyper-V VMs, Restore and use Replication/Incremental Replication in the same way as VMware VMs
- File level restore for VHD disks
- Option to log scheduled task results in Windows Event Logs
- Option to shut down a VM before starting backup/replication task

As in the earlier versions, VM Explorer 4.0 is installed with a few clicks only and ready to use. It should be pointed out the fair and simple pricing model. VM Explorer is licensed per installation and not per host or core. Trilead continues to offer free support to all customers using VM Explorer . The Hyper-V integration entails no additional costs for existing customers.
