WOODSIDE, NY, May 11, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Metro Tapas Bar & Lounge in Woodside, NY officially opens its doors this week offering patrons a unique dining experience in a comfortable bar like atmosphere. Executive Chef Lee Knoeppel's menu features a variety of small plates that take the diner on a culinary tour of American food with an ethnic twist. The restaurant's fare is inspired by local and regional favorites kicked up to reflect the refined palates of today's diners.
Knoeppel previously worked at the famed Craft Bar in Gramercy and was Chef de Cuisine at the Pridwin Beach Hotel on Shelter Island, NY. Knoebell received his Culinary Certificate from the Institute of Culinary Education (ICE). Some of Chef Knoeppel's small plate dishes include:
- Parmesan Flan w/ Crispy Prosciutto - Shaved asparagus, hollandaise sauce. $9
- Crispy Artichokes w/ White Beans - Long stemmed artichoke hearts, white bean salada, lemon garlic aioli. $8
- Chicken & Waffles - Southern fried on top of homemade waffle. Compound butter - honey maple drizzle. $9
- Creole Shrimp - Spiced lentils - chorizo vinaigrette. $10
- Truffled Burrata Crostini. Garlic rubbed crostini's, burrata cheese, truffle oil, balsamic reduction. $8
- Striped Bass w/ Israeli cous cous Tabouli - Sweet chili oil. Mango chutney. $10
Metro Tapas Bar & Lounge also offers a full bar with a selection of classic and contemporary cocktails, craft beers and wines. The beverage program is run by Carlos Santamaria, whose East Side Company Bar won Various awards in NYC, including best cocktails by the Village Voice and City Search.
