Renee is an expert in youth and family. At The Marketing Store, her primary responsibilities are to provide more in-depth understanding of youth/families, youth promotions/product development, help lead consumer-based product innovation and establish The Marketing Store Play lab. Renee holds a Ph.D. in Psychology from Northwestern University and for the past 7 years, a primary area of her focus has been children's play. Renee has been sought after to present her original research at national conferences and has spoken at numerous events, most recently the 2012 Digital Kids Conference where she anchored a panel on the latest research in kids and gaming.
WHAT: In her session, Redefining Childhood, Dr. Weber will take a look at the global realities of play around the world, and children's (ages 6-12) favorite activities. The session and research focuses on the lifestyles of children across the world (e.g. usage of electronics and mobile devices, leisure activities, favorite activities, and favorite types of toys/games values/aspirations) to present a picture of the state of play around the globe.
