Celebrating its 15th birthday this year, the event will feature performances from Lebanese trumpeter Ibrahim Maalouf, US hip-hop act Chiddy Bang and Portuguese singer Ana Moura.

The festival is due to run from Thursday July 5th to Sunday July 8th. Popular Amsterdam venues such as Melkweg and Paradiso will host gigs for the first three days, with tickets available to buy online.

On the final day, a free outdoor concert incorporating several stages is scheduled to take place at the city's Oosterpark.

This event, which is traditionally the climax of the festival, will feature international musicians such as Bonga from Angola, Congolese rapper Baloji, Colombia's Systema Solar and Asakusa Jinta of Japan.

In addition, revellers will be able to browse through more than 125 stalls offering fresh food, fashion and beauty treatments from around the world at the Roots Bazaar.
