Karen E. Agersborg Recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for Excellence in Endocrinology

    PHILADELPHIA, PA, June 4, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Karen E. Agersborg, DO, FACOI, FACE, Clincal Endocrinologist for Mercy Suburban Hospital, has been recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in endocrinology.

Dr. Agersborg has 11 years of experience in endocrinology, with expertise in diabetes and metabolism. She is responsible for treating patients and teaching medical students. She became involved in her profession after speaking with numerous doctors about the field of endocrinology. In 1998, she received her DO from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and in 1986 she received a bachelor of arts from Villanova University.

In 2010, she became recertified in advanced life support. She is also certified in thyroid ultrasound and FNA biopsy. Dr. Agersborg is a member of the Penn Athletic Rowing Club, Vesper Rowing Club; a fellow of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists and a fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Internal Medicine. In 2008, she received the award for Recognition of Outstanding Contribution to Osteopathic Medicine from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. She was also the recipient of the Golden Apple Teaching Award from Chestnut Hill Hospital and the Outstanding Contribution Award for Teaching at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. In 2011, Dr. Agersborg was recognized as a Worldwide Who's Who VIP member; in 2012, she received the Professional of the Year distinction for excellence in endocrinology.
