WALWORTH, WI, June 03, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The 9th annual Silver & Black Series presented by Sandlot Baseball, Inc. will take off on June 10th at Symonds/Puckett Field, Triton College in River Grove, Illinois. This event will also feature an Underclass version for 2014 graduates the following day, June 11th also at Triton College. Homewood-Flossmoor High School will serve as the contingency site if rain becomes an issue for either date. In September, the Silver & Black Series will move out west to Hampshire High School with the 2016s working out on September 9th and the 2015s on September 16th.
John Sarna, Director of the Silver & Black Series said, "The Silver & Black Series has evolved into a can't miss event. An evaluator has the opportunity to sit back and take in a match up to the likes of Ian Krol vs. Zach McAllister or TJ McFarland vs. Charlie Tilson, every pitch, every at bat."
Player registration begins on Sunday at 9 AM with the Monday event beginning at 10 AM. Each team will play two games with each pitcher being held to a 15 pitch count/maximum per inning.
The Silver and Black Series is one of the top baseball events in the Midwest. The student-athletes who have exhibited superior skill on the baseball diamond and exceptional character off the diamond are invited annually to exhibit their talents amongst professional scouts and college coaches.

The top high school baseball players from the Midwest have been invited to this quality event free of charge. The June 10th Silver & Black Series participants will also benefit with an invite to the Area Code tryouts, June 25th & 26th at Elgin Community College and Triton College. Players selected for the White Sox Area Code team will travel to California in August to compete in the prestigious Area Code Games.
Standout participants earn the opportunity to travel to the Area Code Games in California. At this venue, the audience grows to a national level as MLB Scouts and college coaches from all over the nation are in attendance. An exceptional performance can unlock options for a young player from the professional ranks and academic institutions.
