BRIGHTON, ENGLAND, June 07, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The 2012 edition of the Brighton Japan Festival is due to begin on Friday June 22nd, bringing a host of special events to the city for an exciting ten-day period.
People with an interest in Japanese art, culture and technology should find plenty to enjoy at the festival, which aims to provide something for everyone by fusing the traditional and the modern.
This year's programme includes the Moshi Matsuri, a two-day street festival taking place outside the Moshi Moshi sushi restaurant in Brighton's Bartholomew Square.
Entry is free and the event is set to feature live music, martial arts and children's games. There will also be hot and cold food, with an eating contest involving soba noodles.
Other highlights of the festival include Japanese whisky tasting sessions, a celebration of retro videogames at the popular Marwood's Cafe and a special screening of classic Japanese horror film The Ring.
In addition, the Asahi Anime Festival is due to take place on Saturday June 30th and Sunday July 1st.
This event, which is the only open-air anime festival in the UK, will feature manga drawing, fashion shows and karaoke competitions.
