Throughout her career, Ms. Peterson has honed her expertise in the areas of contract and financial management, coalition building, mergers and acquisition, audits, budgeting, forecasting, and project management.
Ms. Peterson brings her experience and expertise to the position of contracts and finance manager for GlaxoSmithKline, a leading research-based pharmaceutical and health care company. In this role, she has facilitated and managed $40 million in U.S. contracts as part of the IT, Service and Governance group. She has achieved 20 percent budget cost savings of existing contracts, partcipated in a global request for proposal that resulted in reduced contract complexity, professional vendor relationships with more than 40 U.S.-based vendors, and instituted Lean Six Sigma methodologies, among numerous other endeavors.
Ms. Peterson's exceptional work has not gone without formal recognition. She has received a multitude of impact and spirit awards for outstanding performance, projects, analyses, problem-solving and contributions. Ms. Peterson attributes her success to her fundamental belief in God and the principles she adheres to on a daily basis. Additionally, she credits her success to preparation and hard work. In light of her accomplishments, Ms. Peterson is proud to have effectively balanced her personal and professional life. Ms. Peterson earned an MBA in finance and information technology from La Salle University in 2003. She previously received a bachelor's degree in business administration from the same institution in 1999. Her professional affiliations include the Healthcare Businesswomen's Association and The National Black MBA Association, Inc. Aside from work, she volunteers as a newsletter editor, treasurer, teacher and counselor for local nonprofit organizations. In the future, Ms. Peterson sees herself as a vice president of a major corporation while simultaneously polishing her skills as a college professor.
