The Miracle Theatre Company has created a new version of the sharply-plotted comedy that lends a surreal edge to its famously witty dialogue.

Helmed by Bill Scott, the touring production should appeal to both long-time fans of Wilde and people who are unfamiliar with the celebrated Dublin-born writer's work.

According to Miracle, the 1895 play has been "subtly adapted to extract every drip of humour and contemporary relevance" from a text that satirises Victorian society.

Tickets for the production, which can be booked online, are priced at GBP16 for adults and GBP14 for concessions.

Founded in Cornwall in 1979, Miracle uses a touring company of between five and seven performers to visit towns and rural venues across the UK.
