SINGAPORE, June 22, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- After taking a year off from blogging for work and family reasons, former magazine editor Aun Koh has re-launched his ultra-popular food and gourmet-travel blog, Chubby Hubby (www.chubbyhubby.net). The blog has a worldwide audience, prior to Koh's hiatus, up to 90,000 unique visitors and over 3 million hits per month.
Chubby Hubby returns with a complete redesign and now boasts a striking visual aesthetic that fluidly adapts to all devices. This makes browsing through Chubby Hubby equally easy and pleasurable, no matter if one's using a desktop, laptop, tablet or smartphone.
But the biggest change to Chubby Hubby is its new editorial team. Koh previously wrote almost all of the content, save for the occasional contribution by his wife, former cookbook writer and magazine editor Tan Su-Lyn. The new Chubby Hubby will feature the work of a full editorial team. In addition to Koh and Tan--who will continue to create most of the content--Chubby Hubby now has an editor and 11 writers, some of whom are also published authors or fellow bloggers. Vivian Pei, for example, is a well-respected cookbook author and culinary instructor. Chan Wai Xin has his own wine blog, contributes to EnjoyWine.SG and is a mentor within the US-based social wine group Snooth. Joanna Hutchins runs the Accidental Epicurean blog and is a frequent contributor to CNNGo. Aman Khan was previously the Jakarta Post's resident food critic. Writers are based in New York, London, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Shanghai and Singapore. All contributors have volunteered their time.
"We've built an editorial team because we want to be able to deliver content relevant to our readers more frequently," explains Koh. "My own favourite sites are those that I can visit several times a week, if not every day. I want Chubby Hubby to be the site that every foodie and travel junkie visits every morning, excited to see the newest delish thing of the moment we've written about. We have no doubt that readers will respond to the fresh, original content that we're working on."
Chubby Hubby's mission is to deliver fresh, inspiring, exciting and original content about great food, noteworthy restaurants, interesting culinary trends, and gourmet-related travel, style and luxury to a global audience of foodies, travel junkies, media enthusiasts and style hounds. This mission underscores a belief that content on Chubby Hubby must, at the end of the day, be useful to readers.
"We want this site to be a useful resource," states Tan. "Our priority is our readers, not hearing our own voices."
With the expanded team, defined editorial sections have been developed. Readers can now look forward to a consistent stream of articles spanning recipes, restaurants, kids, travel, drinks, style and trends. Koh has also created a section simply called Food Porn where he will post food photographs on a weekly basis. Koh and Tan have worked to create clear editorial guidelines for their team. In order to be as transparent as possible, these are stated on the site.
