Fun Read! June 1, 2012
By JennRenee
Format:Kindle Edition. I was really excited to be on the blog tour for this book. The synopsis grabbed me right away and the cover is absolutely beautiful and a little bit dark. Sounded right up my alley. I dove into the book right away and really enjoyed my read.
Avalin is a hard, closed off teenager. When Avalin was a small girl experienced a horrible event involving her mother on her birthday. Since the tramatic event, she has never been the same. Now a senior in high school trying to figure out her future, she is thrown into a mysterious world that changes her world in mere seconds. She has kept everyone, even her best friends, at a distance and now a new guy in school is trying to connect with her and asking her to do the unthinkable. .
This story was really fresh and new. I found myself reading as much as I could at a time, quickly turning pages to understand more and experience more. I wasn't to fond of Avalin at the begining, but she did grow on me and she changed quite a bit throughout the book. She starts off cold, mean, and with no direction. She is so tramatized from her past that she has no desire to be close to anyone and trust comes even harder. In the end she matures, warms up a little, and realizes there is a place for her. I do love her sarcasm and was very happy that never changed. I enjoyed watching Avalin and Albert's relationship grow and develop. The bantering between the two was very entertaining and felt very real to me. I found myself lost in their conversations over and over again. In the end I felt satisfied with that I learned but wanted so much more. I will be looking out for the next book.
Seriously read Twined!, May 29, 2012
This review is from: TWINED (Kindle Edition)
Avalin's mother killed a woman in her own home and now years later Avalin thinks she's going crazy too seeing faces, hearing voices, but along come Albert who tells her she's not going crazy and that's where all the fun begins.
Romance, Intrigue, Adventure and non-human humans. What else can you ask for?! This books is brilliant. I found not one thing that I didn't like. Not one! The romance was swoon-worthy, the Intrigue kept me coming back to find out more, the adventure had me turning the pages at alarming rates and the non human humans well those you'll have to read for yourself.
Not only did it start out incredibly it it also middled (I think I just made up a word) and ended on the same note. A perfect end to leave me asking for more. The plot, the characters, pace, everything was incredible. There are little clues here and there that I think will come up in the sequel and I am just so excited to read and find out more.
Avalin is a quirky, smart mouthed take-no-crap-from-anyone kind of chick and I could really relate to her (well not the having a mother who killed someone in their kitchen part). The characters were all very real and we all know an Avalin, Albert, and Jessica in high school.
Overall this book was brilliant and I recommend this book to everyone! Seriously people go read it because if you don't you will be missing out on an amazing book. And trust me you want to know about the non-human humans!
Twined part one is available as an e-book for only .99 on kindle. Twined part two will be released soon! This very well could be one of the best summertime reads for 2012!
