Covington Who's Who Selects Michael S. Syfrett a 2012 Executive Member of the Year of the Executive and Professional Registry

    HOLLYWOOD, FL, June 23, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Michael S. Syfrett, Territory Manager and Agronomic Consultant for Southern Agriculture Inc. (11yrs to present), has been selected as the 2012 Executive of the Year for the Covington Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry. The selection recognizes Michael S. Syfrett's commitment to excellence in Agribusiness, Agronomy, and Ag Chemicals.

Syfrett, who has been working professionally in his field for over twenty years, became interested in agriculture thanks to his grandfather who founded and built what is still the largest feed mill operation in the state of Florida.

After graduating college, Syfrett spent time running eight-grain elevators in central Illinois for C&S Grain. He has since gained experience in sales and marketing in farming, and forage management, primarily the turf and ornamental industries, to over two hundred fifty clients ranging from privately held operations to international accounts. In his current role, he also partakes in field sales and consulting, and relies heavily on his ability to offer practical help in the field, primarily in pathology, and soil remediation.

The certified crop advisor and certified professional agronomist also credits his schooling and MBA certificate from Tulane University as it has made him a better businessman and a more diversified agronomist. Syfrett has successfully developed and prepared business plans as well as numerous other achievements, including gaining approval for financing on a ten-year return on investment in production farming valuing over $24 million.

"I believe that my career is very rare in the sense that I have had the opportunity to do so many things within the industry," Syfrett noted.

Some of Syfrett's other accomplishments include being a part of the Army Rangers 75th Regiment. During the first Gulf War he spent a brief amount of time with the unit due to an injury but believes he owes these amazing men a deep amount of gratitude for teaching him what he considers the most dynamic culture he has ever known. He also ran a four thousand acre production farm in Florida, was a golf course superintendent, and also assisting in managing thousands of acres in central Illinois. Most recently he was selected by the American Society of Agronomy to be sent to China in the first ever collaboration between the two nations as a member of a delegation of nineteen agronomists through the US Peoples Ambassadors program.
