CORK, IRELAND, June 25, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The game marked Ireland's first appearance at a European final in 24 years and the 35 000 Irish fans in Poznan were eager to support their country and excited to see what the tournament would bring. This year 1.4 million tickets were sold for the games, and over 20 000 people crossed the Poland-Ukraine border each day during the tournament. Ireland's first game against Croatia sold-out fast and Blue Steel Acquisitions were lucky to be awarded tickets and flights to the tournament as a result of their high performance in outsourced sales.
Blue Steel Acquisitions noted that the atmosphere in Poznan before the game was electric. Ireland and Croatian fans lined the streets of Market Square, each cheering and signing and wearing their flags with pride to show support for their country. Sarah Bennett, Managing Director of Blue Steel Acquisitions, said "The buzz before the game was incredible and unlike anything I've seen before. Everyone was so excited to cheer on their Country and there was great camaraderie around the square. It really was a fantastic day for Irish and Croatian fans alike."
RTE reported that an average 1.24 million viewers tuned in to watch Ireland's first game of the Euro 2012. In Poznan the 40 000 seat Municipal Stadium was sold out for the game, and Blue Steel Acquisitions reveals that 70% of the crowd were Irish. Blue Steel Acquisitions Managing Director Sarah Bennett said "It was great to see such pride from the Irish fans. They were constantly singing and cheering throughout the game, showing massive support for their team. Even though Ireland lost in the end, everyone who attended the game was proud to support their team and happy that they had witnessed Ireland's first European Championship game since UEFA Euro1988." For Blue Steel Acquisitions and business partners it was an experience that will remain with them for years to come.
