EAST ORLEANS, MA, June 26, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Roberta M. Hurlburt, Rental Properties Manager for TideOver LLC, Overthere and Up LLC, Chickenship LLC and Ambergris LLC, has been named a VIP Member of Worldwide Who's Who. This special distinction honors individuals who have shown exceptional commitment to achieving personal and professional success.
Ms. Hurlburt has 32 years of professional experience in fine art and 12 and years of experience in real estate. She is currently the rental properties manager for TideOver LLC, Overthere and Up LLC, Chickenship LLC and Ambergris LLC. In all of these endeavors, she utilizes her real estate expertise to manage high-end summer rentals on Cape Cod. She is also involved in creating and selling original works of art; she specializes in assemblages and 3-D collages that hang on the wall. She has a studio on Cape Cod and spends winters in Boca Grande, Fla.
Drawing upon her entrepreneurial spirit, Ms. Hurlburt helped to open the Hyannis Harbor Arts Center in July 2011, and had the first visiting artist show there at the Guyer Barn. In addition, she had a solo exhibition at The Cape Cod Museum of Art in 2006. One of her pieces hangs right outside the front door of the museum, and she is honored to say it is in the museum's permanent collection. She has received several awards for her artwork, including second place in the Margaret Dole Memorial Show in 2004. In 1972, she received the National Junior Scholastic Award for Pottery.
Ms. Hurlburt attributes her success to her parents, who taught her to follow her bliss in life. Interested in art ever since she was a child, she became involved in her profession after she graduated from Boston University in 1978. She opened Armadillo's restaurant in 1982 and ran it with a partner until they sold it in 1994. The highlight of her career, she says, was working with people as a team and watching some of the young employees she had in her businesses grow and succeed; she hopes to have had a small influence on their success. The most gratifying aspect of her life at present is watching her daughter fly and zoom into her independent life.
Ms. Hurlburt received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in sculpture from the College of Fine Arts at Boston University in 1978, and has also studied at Rollins College, the Maryland Institute of Art and the Corcoran School of Art. She completed an independent study in art history while traveling through Italy. She holds memberships to Uncle Henry's Marina, the Orleans Yacht Club and the Boca Grande Club.
In her spare time, Ms. Hurlburt enjoys dancing, ballet, fishing, boating, tennis and paddle-boarding. She was the co-founder of Saint Anne's Day School in Annapolis, MD, and also served on the acquisitions committee for the Cape Cod Museum of Art.
