HATTIESBURG, MS, July 2, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Suzanne Lindsey, Director of Sales for the Anderson Design Center, has been recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in Interior Design.

As Director of Sales for Anderson Design Center, Ms. Lindsey is responsible for overseeing 14 salespeople in all divisions including residential and commercial design, reviewing sales figures, creating training programs, managing public relations, and communicating ideas to team members. On the job, Ms. Lindsey has progressed from retail sales to outside sales in flooring, and then from outside sales in commercial furniture to Director of Sales. As a member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), she has progressed from allied to professional status and is now a Board Member for the South Central Chapter. She attributes her success to having amazing teachers and leaders both while in school and while she has been working professionally. In addition, she credits her passion for interior design, which enables her to design spaces that create the desired mood for every type of personality and environment.

The story of Ms. Lindsey's involvement with interior design began when she woke up one morning while she was in college with the knowledge that she wanted to become an interior designer. She immediately changed her major and found a job that would relate to her studies. She began working in a Benjamin Moore Paint store, where she learned how to mix paints and help customers with both interior and exterior colors. Her career has taken off from there. The most gratifying aspect of her career is that her job is different every day and that she gets to work with great people and organizations. She is proud to live in Hattiesburg, MS, and work for one of the most respected companies in the area. She also appreciates having the ability to freelance, which keeps her up-to-date with creating design boards and specifying all materials. The highlight of her career thus far has been earning a Master of Science in Healthcare Interior Design and completing her thesis, 'The Impact of Interior Design on Patient Satisfaction Scores in a Hospital Birth Center", which is now published.

Ms. Lindsey received a Master of Science in Healthcare Interior Design from Stephen F. Austin State University in 2011, having earned a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design with a minor in Architectural Engineering from The University of Southern Mississippi. She is a NCIDQ Certificate Holder, National Council for Interior Design Qualification. She is a member of the American Society of Interior Designers and a board member of the Historic Hattiesburg Downtown Association. In years to come, Ms. Lindsey hopes to be a professor at her alma mater in South Mississippi and wants to take more examinations to increase her knowledge including the Evidence-based Design Accreditation and Certification (EDAC) exam, the American Academy of Healthcare Interior Designers (AAHID) exam and the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design(LEED)exam.
