MALAGA, SPAIN, July 20, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Art lovers have until Sunday September 16th to visit Malaga for The European Poster: 1888 - 1938, a new exhibition featuring the work of approximately 90 artists.
Taking place at the Spanish city's Museo Picasso, the display aims to provide a comprehensive overview of what the organisers have described as "the most creative and important period in the history of the poster in Europe".
It examines how modern advertising techniques developed from the emergence of the poster, with many of the most famous examples from the early 20th century available to view.
Artists such as Vladimir Lebedev, Man Ray, Vladimir Maiakovski, Henri Matisse, Alexander Rodchenko and Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec are all represented in the exhibition.
"The poster was directly related to the art of its time, because it assimilated the innovations of painting, sculpture and architecture, while at the same time having an impact on the development of all of these disciplines," the museum has stated.
Standard tickets for the exhibition are priced at EUR4.50 (GBP3.50), while a combined ticket that also provides admission to the permanent collections is available for EUR9.
The Museo Picasso is open daily between 10:00 and 20:00 local time during July and August.
