Marsha Woods Distinguished as a VIP of the Year for Dedication to Public Health

    /24-7PressRelease/ -- TERRE HAUTE, IN, July 20, 2011, Marsha Woods, Medical Program Coordinator at Harrison College, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in public health.

With nearly three decades of professional experience, Ms. Woods has cultivated expertise in public health and a love for the field. For the past three years, she has served as the medical program coordinator at Harrison College. Her position entails overseeing all Health Science programs at the campus, especially the medical assistant students, arranging their orientation, and externships. She supervises four employees as well as teaches two to three classes each quarter.

In recognition of her work, Ms. Woods was recently named a VIP of the Year by Cambridge Who's Who. This special distinction is awarded to individuals who have shown exceptional commitment to achieving personal and professional goals. Ms. Woods was also honored as the Instructor of the Quarter in Fall 2010. She considers her success to be a direct result of her hard work and desire to help people.

In 2001, Ms. Woods graduated from Indiana University's School of Medicine with a master's degree in public health. She serves as a board member of the Indiana Public Health Association and is affiliated with the Area Health Education Council, National Association of Professional Women and American Association of Medical Assistants. Looking toward the future, Ms. Woods plans to continue her community involvement; she is working with Harrison College to expand their notoriety in the community. She also aspires to have students become more involved with the medical community. Ms. Woods also was recently a delegate to Cuba for the American Public Health Association to study their public health system.
