DAHLONEGA, GA, July 23, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Armando Moncada, Chief Medical Officer of PCG Labs, has been named a Worldwide Who's Who Professional of the Year in Medical Research. While inclusion in Worldwide Who's Who is an honor, only a small selection of members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, years of service, and the credentials they have provided in association with their Worldwide Who's Who membership.
With nine years of experience as the Chief Medical Officer of PCG Labs, Dr. Moncada specializes in surgical pathology with special expertise in cervical and oral cancers genomics. He is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the medical molecular laboratory, as well as ensuring that diagnoses are being made in accordance with proper procedure. He attributes his success to his dedication to the field of pathology, having become involved in his profession through his fascination with onco/molecular pathology.
Dr. Moncada is a Board Certified pathologist by the American Board of pathology and serves as the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of PCG Molecular Labs. Dr. Moncada trained in pathology while attending Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana followed by a fellowship at City of Hope Medical Center in Duarte, California. Upon completing his fellowship, Dr. Moncada served as medical director of a 300-bed hospital system in Texas and New Mexico. He was then given an appointment as Assistant professor of Pathology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.
Dr. Moncada is an active member of the following professional organizations: American Medical Association (Member), College of American Pathologists (Fellow), American Society for Clinical Pathology (Fellow), American College of Physician Executives (Member) and Association for Molecular Pathology (member).
In addition, Dr. Moncada is an experienced CAP inspector who served as the State Commissioner for the College of American Pathologists in New Mexico where he was responsible for the laboratory accreditation program for both clinical and pathology medical laboratories. He continues to serve as a CAP inspector for the College of American Pathologists and understands the changing needs of the medical community and laboratory industry. Dr. Moncada has a special interest in the laboratory industry and healthcare administration constantly searching for new business models to reduce the rising cost of healthcare.
