Chambers of Darkness Haunted House and Hayride Launches the "Build Your Own Nightmare" Design Competition

    CUSTER PARK, IL, July 31, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Chambers of Darkness Haunted House and Hayride today announced the launch of the "Build Your Own Nightmare" design competition, which will accept submissions via e-mail until September 10th, 2012. The contest enables five lucky haunted house enthusiasts a chance to design, decorate, and perform in their own room to compete for prizes this Halloween season.

"We run this competition at Halloween every year, and we are always excited to see what the fans come up with," said Rick Hall, Fire Chief of the Custer Park Volunteer Fire Department, and the president of the committee that runs the annual Halloween event. "This is a great opportunity for haunted house fans and Halloween enthusiasts to have some fun, win a prize, and get involved in a great cause that helps us fund operations to protect our community at the same time," said Hall.

A committee will select the contestants with the top five room concepts for the competition, and they will work with the staff to plan out their rooms for the upcoming Halloween season. The room will then be built for the contestants by the Chambers of Darkness Haunted House and Hayride staff, and contestants will be allowed adequate time to decorate the room that they will operate for the duration of the haunted house in October.

Prizes will be awarded based on the total number of votes received by the fans that pass through the haunted house this Halloween season.

The 3 rooms that receive the most votes will be awarded the following prizes:

First Place: $250
Second Place: $150
Third Place: $75
