LONDON, ENGLAND, August 03, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Knitwear design legend Mark Fast has teamed up with hosiery giant Jonathan Aston to create a stunning new line of Mark Fast bodywear and hosiery, and MyTights.com is proud to be stocking the collection.
Mark, an ex Central Saint Martin's student, collaborated with Jonathan Aston because he was interested in weaving techniques they had used and wanted to bring his extensive experience to the table. Previous collaborations with Topshop and Christian Louboutin, as well as his own shows at London Fashion week, mean this guy comes with solid design credentials. Of his experience of designing with the brand, he says: "Working with Jonathan Aston has been a great adventure of experimenting with new technologies to create sexy hosiery for a broad audience. I am excited to see how women will see the colours and style these pieces within their wardrobes."
The Mark Fast and Jonathan Aston collection combines athletic silhouettes with flashes of sports luxe neon - perfect with the Olympics in town this year. The collection is definitely at the luxury end of the tights spectrum but entirely wearable and affordable, too - so everyone can get a taste of high end hosiery. Mark said he wanted his collection to be versatile and appeal to everyone from "hip hop, to goths, to chic girls", and the collection expresses this - with four distinct sections for four very different looks.
1) Woollies
Perfect for slouchy weekend style, the woollies products conjure up images of brisk walks in the winter chill, followed by a roaring fire in a countryside pub or cosying up indoors while outside it pours down with rain. Described as "Ballet bar meets hip hop fashion", the loosely knitted styles can be worked on their own or with a coloured opaque underneath. Combining elegant knitted hosiery with striking asymmetric stripe designs was a stroke of genius - this sub-strand of the collection is directional, bold but incredibly wearable, no matter what your style.
2) Double Vision
The Double Vision products perfectly blend sheer and opaque panels to create modern designs. Sheer panels were all the rage last season and this is the next generation of the trend - an altogether more grown up way of flashing the flesh. Styles like the Piano Tights and Stripes Tights are bold and playful, and can be dressed up or down. Both come in black for an easy to wear variation, or opt for the seasonal hues on offer - we love the Piano Tights in blush, which gives the striking design a softer look.
3) Honeycomb
Inspired by the intricate construction of a honey comb, these products are made from a knitted net material that looks almost like crochet - a much softer version of the fishnet. A back seam effect and pretty detailing around the foot are finishing touches that make these products look really high end. And with hold ups, tights and anklets available there's no excuse not to try it - braver souls can wear the tights while those wanting a subtler style can pop on a pair of ankle highs instead.
4) Scramble
The Scramble line is all about the colour - Mark and Jonathan Aston have used cationic yarn in an innovative dying process that allows the creation of gorgeous two-tone designs. Colour ways are very of the moment - orange and blue, or black with grey for the ultra chic. Accompanied by mesh panels and eyelet cut outs, we especially love the long sleeved bodysuit which will look simply superb teamed with skinny jeans and spiky heels.
