BARCELONA, SPAIN, August 09, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Stella McCartney opens her first store in Spain located in the heart of Barcelona's Paseo de Gracia and the corner of Carrer Rossello today. Constructed in 1900 the historic building, housing the designer's 5th European freestanding store, is influenced by French classicism and surrounded by the city's celebrated Art Nouveau architecture including Gaudi's La Pedrera. The new 100 square meter shop reflects an intimate, personal and architectural atmosphere using simple and natural materials contrasted with sculptural details illustrating her signature style combination of sharpness and femininity.
The store facade's four windows wrap around the corner of the building framed by white metal lit up with the Stella McCartney logo while glass doors with a sculptural brass door handle leads into Stella McCartney's world. Inside the space, the bespoke sustainable oak parquet floor in a traditional herringbone pattern designed by Raw Edges guides the customer throughout the store featuring a neutral palette in maple, oak, walnut with brass details punctuated with shades of pink. Stella's ready-to-wear designs that play on masculine and feminine are displayed on brass sculptural rail installations, while handbags including the popular Falabella are merchandised on a concrete-like venetian plaster wall with relief block shelving contrasted with bold coloured felt. Rhombus tile plinths and built in ledge units provide additional accessory display. A luxury stained wood paneled fitting rooms complete the space. A dedicated Stella McCartney Kids corner mirrors the collection by celebrating the spirit and energy of kids today. The sculptural brass rail installations are reworked into vibrant primary pop colours with rubber shaped ball accents to express the fun, modern and playful collection which include "mini me" versions of styles from the women's collections.
The store will carry the brand's luxury women's ready-to-wear, accessories, lingerie, fragrance and kids collections. A private wardrobe service will also be offered to clients.
